alway Head of the River 2015 took place on Saturday March 14th. It was a successful day of competition for the Coláiste Iognáid Rowing Club who recorded wins in the following categories:

Junior 16 Men’s Eight 
with David Young (cox), Philip Buckley, Mark Ryder, Shane O’Halloran, Darragh Coen, Thomas Power, Adam de Burca, Daragh Coughlan, Luke Mulliez

Junior 16 Men’s Four

Special mentions:
Junior 18 Women’s Four
with Grace Egan, Molly Curtis, Rachel Trench, Laoise Griffin
who came second in a category for 5th and 6th years when they are only in 3rd and 4th year

Junior 16 Women’s Eight

with Hannah Wortmann (cox), Caoileann Nic Dhonncha, Ruby Murphy, Hazel McNamara, Ruth Griffin, Rian Spillane, Ciara Walsh, Anna O’Donoghue, Holly McHugh
This crew have only started sweep rowing in October and rowed in an event for experienced women, all of them are in second year!!


Junior 16 Women’s Single
Sarah Curtis took  2nd place and Molly Curtis took 3rd place (only two seconds difference between them)
