Jes Senior Debating Success at West of Ireland Debating Competition

enior Debaters Alastair Richardson, Frank O’Neill and Eoghan Frank achieve ‘The Double’ for only the second time in the thirty year history of the West of Ireland Debating Competition by winning both sections of the Grand Final in NUIG last month. Alastair won the best Individual Speaker in his opposition to the motion ‘This House Would Not Tell the Public of an Impending Apocalypse’. Frank and Eoghan, also opposing this motion won the team award.

They then travelled to UCC for the grand final where they were unlucky to not bring back silverware debating the motion that ‘The USA is Not a Force for Good’. 

This May Bank Holiday weekend, Junior Debaters Kate Duggan and Philip Buckley travel to Oxford to represent Ireland in the International Competition for Young Debaters.
